We believe that all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments (The Holy Bible) are the inspired and inerrant Word of God and the only rule of faith and life. We accept and acknowledge all the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church contained in the Book of Concord of 1580 as a true and sound exhibition of Christian Doctrine taken from and in full agreement with the Holy Scriptures.
We believe that there is only one God. He is the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We reject all other gods and pathways to salvation as being false.
We believe that God created all that exists out of nothing in six literal 24 hour days. We believe that mankind is the crown of God’s creation and in the beginning God established an order by which man and woman should live for their benefit and blessing as well as God’s glory. We reject as false every theory of evolution and every notion that evolution is science and we also reject every perversion of God’s created order as being acceptable within society or the church.
We believe that since man fell into sin, all men are sinners from conception and in need of a Savior, without whom they would be eternally lost and suffer the eternal wrath of God’s punishment in hell.
We believe that God desires to save all mankind. In order to save all mankind God Himself took on human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and obeyed the law in our place, suffered and died upon the cross for the sins of all mankind, and rose again to life that we might have the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. We reject every notion or teaching that man can save himself, that he can earn eternal life by his good deeds, or that there is any salvation apart from faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe that God offers the gift of forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation to every person freely for the sake of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
We believe that saving faith in Jesus Christ cannot be obtained by an exercise of the will. It is not obtained by the decision of any man, for apart from God’s working in him every man remains spiritually dead in their trespasses and sins.
We believe that saving faith is God’s free gift and is received by man when the Holy Spirit working through His word, works saving faith in the heart, a faith which grasps and holds on to the saving merits of Jesus Christ who died and rose for us.
We believe that all people who have saving faith in Jesus Christ will receive the blessing of everlasting life in heaven and that it is God alone who can judge the heart of any person to see if they have faith. Accordingly then, we also confess that there is only one holy Christian and apostolic Church, made up of all true believers and only true believers.
We believe that Baptism is God’s work on behalf of the sinner being brought to faith in Christ, not man’s work to curry God’s favor. Accordingly then, we confess one Baptism, administered according to Christ’s command and promise, for the remission of sins.
We believe that Jesus Christ will return on the Last Day to judge the living and the dead. On that last Day the bodies of all the dead will be raised and God will grant to all believers in Christ eternal life and all unbelievers will suffer in eternal punishment in hell.
