Divine Service

Our Standard Worship Service

We believe that worship is an act of receiving God’s gifts, which is why we use the Divine Service.  In the Divine Service, God comes to us through His Word and Sacraments. At Grace Lutheran Church, we use the Lutheran Service Book (2006), which includes five different versions, or settings, of the Divine Service. Its is truly a enriching experience to receive the gifts of God. During the Divine Service, the Lord's Supper is served.

We Practice Closed Communion

We ask that all who are not communicant members of Grace Lutheran please speak with one of our Pastors before communing. Those guests who are members in good stead of a sister Missouri Synod congregation and have previously spoken to our Pastors need only sign a communion card which is located in the pew. We trust that all will respect God's Word and our practice in accordance with its teachings.

Everyone is welcome to come forward during communion to receive a blessing.

Matins Service

Every 5th Sunday

Matins is a Lutheran Church service that has stood the test of time. This daily prayer service dates back to the Middle Ages and was originally used in monasteries. During the Reformation this service was reduced to the two major offices of Matins and Vespers, with Compline also serving as a brief service suited for the close of the day.  Join us for Matins and be a part of a long-standing tradition of devotion and worship. During our Matins Service, we do not serve the Lord's Supper.
